Terms of Use
Last updated: September 2, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Mom Coded LLC (“Mom Coded,” “we,” “us”) for the It Takes A Village mobile application and related websites (together, “ITAV”). By creating an account or using ITAV, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. Eligibility and who the app is for
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. ITAV is for parents, family, and caregivers coordinating childcare. It is not a product for children to use, and it is not a childcare provider, background-check service, or emergency service.
2. The service
ITAV lets you create or join a “village,” share invite links, post coverage needs on a shared calendar, and collect Yes / Backup / No responses. Features may change. We may add, pause, or remove functionality. Paid subscriptions, if offered later, will be described in the app and in store listings before you are charged.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for your login credentials and for activity on your account. Provide accurate information. Notify us if you believe your account is compromised. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms or that appear to be used by someone under 18.
4. Villages, invites, and user content
You retain rights to content you submit (events, comments, names, notes). You grant Mom Coded a limited license to host, display, and transmit that content as needed to operate ITAV for your village. You agree that you have the right to share what you post, including information about children in your care.
Do not use ITAV to harass, exploit, or endanger anyone; to post illegal content; to spam; or to attempt to access other people’s villages or data. Village leaders should only invite people they trust. An invite link is not a guarantee of anyone’s identity or suitability as a caregiver.
5. Children’s information
Any child names, birthdays, or notes in ITAV are entered by adults for coordination among village members. You must only enter information you are authorized to share. We do not provide accounts to children. See the Privacy Policy.
6. Notifications and device permissions
If you enable push notifications, email notifications, or calendar export, ITAV will use those channels as described in Settings and the Privacy Policy. You can change those preferences in the app or in system settings.
7. No professional or safety warranty
ITAV is a coordination calendar. It does not guarantee that coverage will be provided, that a village member is available or appropriate to care for a child, or that information others enter is accurate. You remain responsible for childcare decisions and for complying with any laws that apply to you.
8. Disclaimer
ITAV is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mom Coded LLC and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of ITAV. Our total liability for any claim relating to ITAV will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for ITAV in the 12 months before the claim or (b) twenty-five U.S. dollars (US $25). Some places do not allow certain limitations; in those places our liability is limited to the maximum permitted by law.
10. Termination
You may delete your account at any time in Settings or via our deletion page. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the service. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers and liability limits) will survive.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change. If you continue to use ITAV after an update, you accept the new Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the app and delete your account.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Mom Coded LLC maintains its principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that you may have additional mandatory rights in your place of residence.
13. Contact
Questions about these Terms: in-app Contact, our support page, or the homepage feedback form.
